Assistant Branch Manager II - Rockland

 

FUNCTION:  Assists the manager in generating, maintaining and servicing business and retail relationships of the branch. Responsible for day-to-day branch operations and customer service issues.  Assists in planning, directing, organizing and controlling the activities of the branch, including management of employees. Assists in ensuring that the branch fully participates in activities to meet goals.  Monitors and tracks branch activities to ensure attainment of goals and objectives.   

ACCOUNTABILITIES: 

   

Demonstrates more advanced supervisory skills and provides strong leadership for the branch. 

                                                                                                                                   

Organizational Development:   

   

Under guidance of manager: 

  • Continuously works to lead, coach and performance manage the entire branch team 
  • Communicates performance standards and strategies necessary to achieve goal objectives for the branch 
  • Leads team meetings, to include coaching/educating branch staff on products and services 
  • Participates in the decision making process for branch staff regarding employment, performance, promotions, salary, transfers and terminations 

Assists in: 

  • Ensuring that operational policies and procedures are implemented and adhered to 
  • Ensuring that branch staff is appropriately trained 
  • Ensuring the building and grounds are properly maintained   
  • Ensuring the branch banking security program is implemented and maintained, and that staff members are knowledgeable of such 

   

Business Development: 

  • Assists in conducting sales routines with staff members including skills and results coaching, monthly skill builders, team IMPACT meetings, and I-15’s 
  • Assists the Manager in building and fostering external bank advocacy network by becoming involved in various civic/charitable organizations, BSB sponsored events, boards, etc 
  • Serves as a role model, coach, and sales resource to other team members  
  • Originates and services deposit accounts and loans, expanding customer relations through a proactive sales effort 
  • Provides ongoing service to customers and takes appropriate action to bring satisfaction resolution to customer problems 
  • Develops a cooperative and collaborative working relationship with other departments and leaders in the company 

   

Financial Performance: 

  • Assists in making budgeting recommendations and operating the branch within the limitations of the established budget, managing controllable expenses 

   

Compliance and Control: 

  • Assists in ensuring that the Bank is in compliance with local, state and federal regulations 

  

General: 

  • Interacts harmoniously and effectively with others, focusing upon the attainment of bank goals and objectives through a commitment to teamwork 
  • Conforms to acceptable punctuality/attendance standards as expressed in the Employee Handbook 
  • Performs additional duties as requested 

   

Knowledge/Skills/Experience Requirements: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, college, business or banking professional training helpful 
  • Experience in positively managing and motivating subordinates  
  • Proven leadership skills 
  • Strong coaching skills and general understanding of sales management 
  • Demonstrated personal computer literacy 
  • Ability to handle complex problems 
  • Strong communications skills, verbal and written 
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of staff and management 
  • Proactive planner and self-motivated, with strong selling and business development skills 
  • Ability to attract, motivate and retain staff 
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities, strategically aligning efforts and activities to meet branch goals and objectives 

Physical Demands/Conditions Requirements: 

  • General office environment 
  • Moderate lifting (to 35 lbs.) required.  Moderate reaching, walking, sitting and standing required
